Attributes of a New President

The new President will become part of a highly-advanced educational community of scholars and researchers and will need to provide leadership for a complex, exciting institution with accomplished scholars and alumni and potential for advancement. It is preferred that the successful candidate possess an earned doctorate or other terminal degree with a strong record of scholarship and teaching, and a proven history of executive level administrative experience in higher education. Note about the picture: The next president of CGU and his/her family will have the opportunity to live at 709 Harvard Avenue in the President’s House, a gift to the university in 1971 from Miss Ela C. Sugg, a 1912 graduate of Pomona College. Located within walking distance of the Claremont Village, the house combines Old California low-roof lines with casual Georgian architecture and was completed in 1929.
